Another answered prayer

He proposed

I said Yes

We're engaged!

I've dreamed about this post for three years now. Jonathan's proposal on Christmas eve, in front of my family, was my best Christmas present.

High up above

It's Christmas eve. Presents have been wrapped and placed under a tree. The turkey has been cooked. Soon, we will go for mass and then come home for dinner. We will celebrate the birth of Christ. The night is cool after a rainfall and the air is misty. How blessed am i to be able to celebrate Christmas with those closest to my heart- my family and my Jon.
I feel like every dream i have is coming true, one by one.

A blessed Christmas to everyone.

when christmas comes to town

I took this photo when we lit the first, 'hope' candle of advent last week. I love this ritual of anticipating, lighting and remembering what christmas is really about- hope, love, joy, peace, family, friends, loving and giving thanks for the first christmas.
The floor is filled with bags full of christmas presents for everyone, still unwrapped even though we leave for Singapore on Friday morning and really, some wrapping should have taken place over the weekend. Alas, the weekend was filled with swims at the beach (so cold but so refreshing), breakfasts out, shopping and Jon's office christmas party where much champagne and sangria were served by a cute waiter who had been hired especially for the event. Three desserts later, my tummy gave up. There was just too much food. But it was all fun. And the weather was lovely.
Unlike today, which is cold and drizzly. This is summer? Thank goodness i haven't stashed away all my jumpers.
My to-do list is oh-so-long and includes attempting to write something resembling 35,000 words of my thesis. In addition to doing loads of laundry, reading, making christmas presents, going to uni and of course, packing. I am looking forward to Friday morning where everything will be done (or at least not thought about anymore) and we can go to Zoe's, have a cuppa, grab our bags, hop into a taxi (booked the day before, surely), jump on board a plane and eight hours later, walk into the welcoming arms of family who have been counting down to this very day.
